Journalist Provides Positive Liverpool Transfer Update
After a disastrous title defence, Liverpool are in the market to strengthen their midfield options.
Both Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister both failed to live up to the expectations set during Liverpool’s title winning season in 2025, with the latter now facing an uncertain future at Anfield.
25-year-old Curtis Jones has also found himself as subject to heavy transfer interest as he heads into the final 12 months of his deal.
Liverpool have already rejected two bids from Serie A champions Inter Milan for Jones, but an exit this summer can’t be ruled out with the Reds valuing him at £40m.
But who could be brought in to strengthen Andoni Iraola’s midfield?
Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi is one of the names being linked and Liverpool might have already made their move for the teenager.

Liverpool Hold Talks With Bouaddi’s Agent
According to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, Liverpool are one of the clubs leading the race for Bouaddi.
Speaking on X, he said: “Manchester City and Liverpool are leading the race to try to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi (born in 2007).”
“Positive first talks with his agent. LOSC are now waiting for official bids.”

Schira has also previously reported that Lille have set an €80m asking price for the 18-year-old.
Bouaddi has been one of the standout performers in this year’s World Cup, guiding Morocco into the last 16 after a penalty shootout win over the Netherlands last night.
Liverpool’s hopes could be boosted by Man City’s other transfer plans. The Citizens have already secured Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116m and remain keen on Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, who is valued at around £100m.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are yet to sign a midfielder. If Bouaddi is looking for guaranteed playing time, then a move to Anfield would be a smart decision.
