Yan Diomande has become one of the hottest names in the summer market, and that usually means two things. First, the numbers start getting dafter by the day. Second, every major club in Europe suddenly wants to be seen at the front of the queue.
According to BILD, Manchester United believe they are in “pole position” for the RB Leipzig winger. Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are still firmly in the conversation, but the key detail is the one that matters most, Liverpool are the only club reported to have made a formal offer so far.
That bid, said to be worth €100m, was rejected by Leipzig. Their stance is clear enough. They do not want to let Diomande go for less than £102million, and they are said to be relaxed about keeping him if nobody reaches that mark. In a market obsessed with leverage, that is a powerful position to hold.

Those are elite output numbers for a teenager, especially one playing in a side expected to carry pressure every week. Diomande looks like a player who can beat defenders, create moments and decide matches. That profile is rare, and rare costs money.
RB Leipzig holding firm on valuation
Leipzig appear determined to dictate the pace of this saga. Reports suggest they are trying to tie Diomande down to an improved deal rather than cash in now. That approach makes sense. Our View
If you are looking at this through Liverpool eyes, there is enough here to keep hope alive. The big point is simple, Liverpool have acted. They have put a serious offer on the table, and that tells you the interest is more than background noise. Clubs do not test the water at €100m unless they are convinced a player can change the level of the squad.
The concern, of course, is the price. £102million is huge money for a 19-year-old, no matter how gifted he looks. Talent is one thing, certainty is another. Supporters will remember that explosive wide players can shine early and still need time, patience and the right structure around them.
That said, there is a lot to like in the profile. Goals, assists, pace, fearlessness, and production in a top league at his age, that is the sort of mix that turns heads for good reason. If Liverpool really believe he is a future superstar, then this may be one of those moments when hesitation costs more than action.
For now, it feels like a waiting game. Leipzig are standing tall, the player is keeping his options open, and rival clubs are hovering.
