Bradley Barcola Confident Liverpool Transfer Can Be Agreed With PSG

Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola appears to be approaching a decisive stage, with the PSG forward and his representatives reportedly increasingly confident that a move to Anfield will be completed before the transfer window closes.

The 23-year-old France international has been a prominent Liverpool target throughout the summer, with discussions between the clubs understood to have taken place over several weeks.

Barcola’s position at PSG has also become clearer. The winger has two years remaining on his contract and has indicated that he does not intend to sign an extension beyond 2028, creating a significant decision for the French champions.

Liverpool Talks With PSG Continue

L’Equipe has now reported that Bradley Barcola and his entourage believe the transfer can be secured before the deadline. Personal terms are also reported to have been agreed with Andoni Iraola’s side.

PSG are understood to have rejected an offer worth approximately €115 million, with suggestions that a final package could approach €140 million.

Such figures underline the scale of the operation Liverpool are considering.

Barcola Deal Could Set New Records

Should Liverpool eventually agree a package approaching €140 million, Barcola would become the subject of a significant record transfer.

The proposed fee would surpass the Ligue 1 record for a player sold to a foreign club, currently held by Ayyoub Bouaddi following his move from Lille to Manchester City.

It would also comfortably exceed PSG’s biggest outgoing transfer, the €90 million received when Neymar joined Al Hilal in 2023.

Liverpool would therefore need to make an enormous financial commitment to secure one of their priority attacking targets.

PSG Role Shapes Barcola Decision

Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for an initial €45 million plus add ons and subsequently developed into an important member of Luis Enrique’s squad.

His most productive campaign came during PSG’s treble winning 2024-25 season, when he registered 21 goals and 19 assists across all competitions.

Opportunities became less consistent last season as competition increased within Enrique’s attacking options. Combined with Barcola’s reluctance to extend his contract, the circumstances have created an opportunity for Liverpool to pursue a deal.

Iraola Needs Wide Reinforcements

Liverpool have already completed deals for Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo this summer, but strengthening the wide attacking positions remains an important part of the recruitment plan.

Mohamed Salah’s departure created a considerable vacancy in the squad, both in terms of goals and the ability to consistently threaten from wide areas.

Barcola offers experience at the highest level while still being only 23, and his ability to operate across the attacking line would provide Iraola with additional flexibility.

The remaining obstacle appears to be finding a financial agreement with PSG. With Barcola and his representatives now reportedly confident that the move will happen, attention turns towards whether Liverpool can finally bridge the valuation gap and complete what could become one of the defining transfers of the summer.
