Kenny Dalglish is confident of landing two more players in the coming days as he hopes to secure the signatures of Charlie Adam and then Stewart Downing.

Jordan Henderson, who was signed earlier this month is said to be one of many new faces at Anfield this summer as Kenny Dalglish builds a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the Barclays Premier League.  Adam has been a long term target, his transfer saga looks to be finally coming to a close.  It is thought that Downing will need to hand in a transfer request to force a move as Aston Villa are reluctant to sell after selling Ashley Young to Manchester United.

Adam scored against Liverpool in an away win at Anfield has his sights set on a move to Anfield and has told Blackpool that he only wants to move to Liverpool, which has forced the issue in the last week.

The 25-year-old will move to Anfield in a deal believe to be worth £8million, with young Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey moving in the opposite direction on a year-long loan.

Downing is also on the verge of a move away from Villa Park and, after seeing his former team-mate Ashley Young secure a dream move to Manchester United, will hand in a written transfer request to push the deal through.

Liverpool are hoping to move on as many as 12 players this summer, but as the same time bring in young players with both experience and potential.  This with the aim of first breaking back into the top four and then to mount a serious title challenge in the coming years.
Dalglish has made it clear that he wants players with the ability to bring the best out of his strikers and is aware that both Downing and Adam have the ability to provide a good final ball.

Adam and Downing are expected to arrive within the next week, but one player who could be on his way out of Anfield is Raul Meireles.  With the imminent return of Alberto Aquilani, there is no room for both players and despite a good first season at Liverpool, Meireles will have to be sold to balance the books.
