Liverpool play Chelsea tonight in their last home game of the 2019/20 campaign and we’ve had a look at who is likely to start for The Reds.
Afterwards, Jürgen Klopp’s Redmen will finally get to lift the Premier League trophy on a makeshift stage on the Kop. It’s a historic night for Liverpool and they’ll be keen to mark it with a positive result against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.
There has been a notable drop-off in Liverpool’s results since they were confirmed as league champions back on June 25th. However, Klopp will be going full strength with his selection again tonight at Anfield.
Alisson will start in goals for The Reds. He made an uncharacteristic distribution error which led to a goal in the defeat at Arsenal but, otherwise, his form has been excellent since returning to action in June.
The back four should be Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson. Joël Matip is injured and will not play tonight or on Sunday.
With Jordan Henderson out and James Milner still a doubt, the midfield trio is likely to be Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum and Naby Keïta.
The front three should also be full strength, consisting of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Chelsea: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keïta; Salah, Firmino, Mané
