Jürgen Klopp does not expect any more Liverpool signings before the end of this current transfer window.

The Reds already added Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcântara to the senior squad in the hopes of retaining their Premier League title, come the end of the season.

Tsimikas was signed from Greek club Olympiakos and provides cover and competition for Andy Robertson in the left-back position. Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves and can play on either side of the front three, adding some much-needed in attack.

Thiago was, of course, the big one, the one everyone was talking about. The Spain international midfielder was brought in from FC Bayern and could soon become a regular starter in this side.

During Klopp’s pre-match press conference ahead of the Arsenal game tonight, he was asked about the possibility of any further signings, especially at centre-back.

“I don’t expect a lot, to be honest.

“The centre-half position – you think you are well covered, we have three absolutely top, top, top-class centre-halves, young players in behind, Fabinho in the back hand if you want, and then all of a sudden three players are out for a few days.

“That’s not nice but you cannot, we cannot, sort that in the transfer market, to be honest, because that’s just not possible and we will not even try. I think if nothing more serious happens, I hope we don’t have to try that, but if the situation stays like it is in the moment then no, nothing will happen.

“For all the rest, I think we are in quite a good place now squad-wise and what will happen in the outgoing side, I have no idea in the moment. We will see.”

Hopefully, Joël Matip and Joe Gomez will both be able to avoid any re-occurring injuries for the bulk of the season, meaning the centre-back position should not be too much of a concern.

Matip is currently injured but should be fit again after the upcoming international break. Gomez missed the wins at Chelsea and Lincoln but is expected to be available to face Arsenal on Monday.

Liverpool could surprise us with another name or two coming in before the October 5th deadline but I certainly wouldn’t be expecting it.
