Reds draw Manchester United in FA Cup draw as they prepare to face rivals twice in a week
Liverpool have been handed the tough task of playing Manchester United away in the FA Cup fourth round.
Jürgen Klopp’s side eventually overcame Aston Villa’s youth players in the third round at Villa Park last week. Now, they’ve been drawn to play Manchester United at Old Trafford in round four.
The last time the sides met in the FA Cup was in 2012 at Anfield when Kenny Dalglish’s men knocked United out, winning 2-1. Daniel Agger and Dirk Kuyt were the Liverpool goalscorers that day. However, the last time Liverpool won an FA Cup clash at Old Trafford was in 1921.
Liverpool and United meet this Sunday in a huge Premier League encounter at Anfield as the title race begins to gather a little bit of speed for this season. The Reds then face Burnley on the following Thursday night with the FA Cup game against United to follow the weekend after (23rd/24th January).
The draw for the fifth round of this season’s competition was also completed with the winners of United and Liverpool playing host to either West Ham or Doncaster Rovers.
