Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool team travel to Salford this weekend to play Manchester United in the Premier League.
The Reds are four points off Chelsea and the top four with five games remaining. Chances of Champions League qualification are quickly disappearing as Liverpool have drawn their last two games – at Leeds and home to Newcastle.
Without a win at Old Trafford since the 3-0 victory in 2014, Liverpool will be up against it on Sunday at second-placed Manchester United.
Klopp is without Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez, Joël Matip, Divock Origi, and Caoimhin Kelleher. Nat Phillips is also a doubt and the centre-back will face a late fitness test over the weekend.
Alisson Becker is set to continue in goal for Liverpool while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be at right and left-back respectively. Ozan Kabak should be at centre-back with Fabinho filling in beside him if Phillips is not available.
With Phillips possibly out and Fabinho in the back four, Gini Wijnaldum is likely to sit at the base of the midfield trio. I can see Klopp opting for James Milner’s experience alongside Thiago Alcântara in the middle.
Diogo Jota could be on the bench, playing a big part in the second half. That means Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mané would be the starting front three.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Manchester United: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Fabinho, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Thiago, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mané
