Reports broke on Tuesday that Liverpool have completed a deal to sign RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konaté as The Reds get down to business.
Konaté, 22, is a right-sided French centre-half who joined the Bundesliga side for free as an 18-year-old back in 2017.
On Tuesday, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that a deal had been agreed and a medical already completed by Konaté with Liverpool set to trigger the defender’s €35 million release clause ahead of a summer move.

Sadly, Romano also confirmed that Liverpool would not be exercising their option to purchase Ozan Kabak on a permanent deal. It seems Kabak has played his last game for The Reds.
Liverpool are not paying €18m buy option to sign Ozan Kabak on a permanent deal after securing Konaté deal. If the situation won’t change in talks with Schalke, Kabak will come back after his loan spell at #LFC and he’ll be available for many clubs interested. 🔴 #LFC #Schalke

Liverpool may well have quite a busy summer transfer window ahead of them. They have certainly wasted no time in getting off the mark with the signing of Konaté.
