The 2022/23 Premier League season is just weeks away and Liverpool are once again expected to be Manchester City’s closest contender for the title.

We’ve gone head-to-head with City in recent years and there is no reason to think it won’t be another two-horse race this season.  The current Liverpool and City teams are two of the best sides to play in the Premier League so we’re anticipating another thrilling race this year.

Man City won the title last year, finishing just one point ahead of Liverpool on a huge 93 points from 38 games. Third-placed Chelsea were 18 points adrift and it’s hard to see anyone closing the gap this coming campaign.

The bookmakers certainly don’t see it happening as City and Liverpool are the run-away favourites to lift the title. Anyone looking to place a bet can head over to 96Ace casino online to check out the latest bonuses and offers to make sure you get the best value for your money.

Favourites

Man City are currently the 4/7 favourites to retain their title with Liverpool 2/1 second-favourites to bring the trophy back to Anfield. Obviously, it’s going to be a tough ask to beat Pep Guardiola’s side. They are already a formidable outfit and they’ve just signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian is one of the best young players in the world and they may finally have found a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero. City basically won the title last season without a proper striker and now they’ve got one of the best goal-scorers in the business, so they are likely to be even stronger next season.

However, if there’s one team who can beat them, it’s Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is about to lose one of his key players with Sadio Mane set to join Bayern Munich. Obviously, it’s a blow to lose Mane, but Liverpool have brought in Darwin Nunez as a replacement. The youngster is a huge talent with massive potential, so if he can settle quickly in England, then Liverpool should be able to compete with City once again and push them all the way.

Outsiders

After City and Liverpool, the online sports betting companies price Chelsea as the 14/1 third favourites for the title. Tottenham are close behind on 16/1. Chelsea are rebuilding after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen while Romelu Lukaku is set to move back to Italy. I don’t see them as genuine title contenders and the same can be said of Tottenham. Antonio Conte is a great manager but Spurs don’t have the quality to compete with Liverpool or City over the course of a season.

After them, Manchester United are 28/1 to win the title while Arsenal are at 66/1. I think that big odds for the Gunners. Obviously, it’s unlikely they’ll challenge but Mikel Arteta has a talented young squad and they’re going to add some quality players this summer, so 66/1 seems too steep for them.

However, Arsenal aren’t going to win the title, and neither are United or Tottenham. Chelsea are outsiders too as the race is probably going to be between Liverpool and City once again.
