Liverpool has reportedly set its sights on Wolfsburg’s young gem, Micky van de Ven, while they prepare to welcome Jorg Schmadtke as their newly appointed Sporting Director.

The former Wolfsburg sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, is due to begin his tenure at Liverpool on 1st June, albeit initially on a three-month deal. Despite the club not yet deciding on his formal title, it’s clear he’ll have a substantial influence on Liverpool’s player recruitment and is expected to work closely with manager Jurgen Klopp.
Schmadtke’s arrival brings with it a direct line to Bundesliga talent, hence van de Ven’s name surfacing in the transfer discussions. This interest reflects Schmadtke’s intent to introduce fresh talent from his homeland.
