Liverpool Not Mystery £80m Bidders For Brighton’s Caicedo
Amid swirling speculations in the football transfer scene, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo seems to be the talk of the town. But, hold those horses. It appears Liverpool haven’t thrown their hat into the ring for Caicedo just yet.
Brighton’s midfield sensation, Moises Caicedo, has become the centre of considerable attention with a jaw-dropping bid of over £80m. Contrary to what some might have hoped, David Lynch reports for This Is Anfield, that Liverpool aren’t the undisclosed club behind this generous offer.

Interestingly, Brighton recently claimed to have been approached with a sum that outstrips Chelsea’s efforts to rope in the 21-year-old starlet earlier this summer. Naturally, this fuelled speculations that Liverpool, given the void left by Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, might have jumped on the bandwagon.
The Clock is Ticking for Liverpool
Instead, the Reds’ sights are firmly set elsewhere. Southampton’s Romeo Lavia seems to be at the forefront of Liverpool’s ambitions. Despite the rejection of their hefty £37m and £41m bids, Lavia still remains a beacon of hope. The Belgian prodigy, tagged at a cool £50m by Southampton, is anticipated to be the subject of a fresh Liverpool bid soon.
However, not ones to keep all their eggs in a single basket, the Merseyside club is also eyeing Fluminense’s ace, Andre Trindade. Valued around the £20m mark, there’s been a murmur of contact between the clubs. Yet, Fluminense’s intent to retain Andre until their season’s culmination might put a January move on the back burner.
With the Premier League kick-off looming and a challenging face-off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge barely a fortnight away, Liverpool’s race to fortify their midfield grows ever frantic. The primary goal? Ensuring their latest recruit, hopefully, the 19-year-old Lavia, gets the Anfield welcome pre-season.
