Klopp’s Final Season
Jurgen Klopp has announced that we will step down as Liverpool at the end of the season. The 56-year-old has revealed the reason for his departure, that he’s “running out of energy”.
The news has left Liverpool supporters around the world stunned, with their iconic manager edging closer to the end of his stellar career on Merseyside.
The club has also confirmed that assistant managers Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite development coach Vitor Matos, will also vacate their positions at the end of the season.

Speaking for the club’s media platforms, Klopp says: “I will leave the club at the end of the season. I understand it’s a shock for a lot of people at this moment, but obviously, I can at least try to explain it.”
“I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about the supporters, I love everything. That I still take this decision, probably shows you that I am convinced it’s the one I have to take. It is that I am running out of energy.”
“I’m absolutely fine now, but I know that I can not do the job again, and again, and again. After all the years we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you, and the least I owe you is the truth.”
A True Club Legend
Since arriving back in 2015, Klopp has guided Liverpool back to the top of world football. Winning the first league title in 30 years, reaching three UEFA Champions League Finals and winning one of them.
But it’s not just been Klopp’s huge success on the pitch that has been clear to see, but the growth inside the club has been clear to see. The German has completely re-energised Liverpool Football Club once again and has epitomised the club since the moment he walked through the door.
There’s no doubt that Liverpool supporters will feel hurt, but after everything Klopp has done for the club, I’m sure he will feel the fans’ support.
Amidst a push for another four trophies this season, hopefully, Klopp will have a happy ending to his remarkable journey on Merseyside.
