Who Makes Jurgen Klopp’s Starting Eleven Against Fulham?

After another underwhelming performance during the week, Liverpool now have to turn all of their attention and focus to the Premier League title race. The Reds have seemingly hit some sort of mental block over recent weeks, but they certainly can’t afford to drop more points this weekend.

With the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota all returning to the first-team, Jurgen Klopp will have quite the headache trying to put together his team for Sunday. With that being said, that’s exactly what we are going to attempt to predict today…

Trent’s Fitness Worries

One of the main questions that came from Liverpool’s win in Atalanta was over the fitness of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The full-back put in a fantastic performance but seemed to suffer badly from fatigue in the second-half. Therefore, Joe Gomez will come into the side at right-back.

Alisson Becker will obviously start in goal, with Virgil Van Dijk and Ibou Konate partnering each other in front of him once again. Andy Robertson will start as the other full-back as the Scotsman looks to carry on his solid recent form.

Verdict: Alisson, Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson

Wataru’s Return

Wataru Endo is expected to return into Liverpool’s starting eleven after getting the night off against Atalanta. The Japanese midfielder will return to the base of the midfield – meaning Alexis Mac Allister will return to his favoured role higher in the midfield three.

Dominik Szoboszlai will likely be the third midfielder, considering his early substitution alongside Mo Salah on Thursday. The likes of Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch and Harvey Elliott will provide some quality and depth from the bench.

Verdict: Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai

Struggling Forwards

You would certainly struggle to pick a front three out of these players at the moment, considering their woeful form in front of goal. Mohamed Salah is nailed on to start this one after coming off early during the week. Darwin Nunez was replaced by Cody Gakpo on Thursday, but is expected to return to the starting lineup on Sunday.

Many supporters will be hoping for a return to the starting lineup for Diogo Jota, but they may have to wait longer based on his cameo from the bench during the week. You can instead expect to see Luis Diaz line up on the left-wing once again. Jota will join Gakpo on the bench.

Verdict: Salah, Nunez, Diaz

Starting XI: Alisson, Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk (C), Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Salah, Nunez, Diaz

Bench: Kelleher, Quansah, Tsimikas, Alexander-Arnold, Jones, Gravenberch, Elliott, Jota, Gakpo
