In addition to his club successes, Hansen also made significant contributions on the international stage. He earned 26 caps for Scotland and was part of the squad for the 1982 World Cup. Memorable Moments as a Pundit
One of Hansen’s most notable moments on “Match of the Day” came in 1995. Following a Manchester United defeat to Aston Villa, Hansen famously remarked, “You can’t win anything with kids.” Ironically, that very team, featuring future stars like Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, and David Beckham, went on to win the FA Cup and Premier League Double that season.
Hansen also contributed to BBC Sport’s coverage of major football tournaments, including the World Cups and European Championships, further cementing his legacy in the football world.
