Former Man United Star Heaps Praise on ‘Unbelievable’ Liverpool Forward
It has been a historic campaign so far for Liverpool, with new head coach Arne Slot currently on course to guide the Reds to just their second Premier League title and the first in front of the fans.
Many questioned whether the Dutchman was capable of steering the ship following the shock departure of Jurgen Klopp last season, but he has certainly proved those doubters wrong so far.
Whether it’s the improvement in form of the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Ibrahima Konate and Cody Gakpo, or the input of the veteran players like Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk – it has been nothing short of spectacular.

As much as all of those things are true, it has undoubtedly been the pure genius of Salah that has led the way this season. Even former Man United stars have been left in awe of the Egyptian King’s brilliance!
Lee Sharpe revealed to Anfield Index, courtesy of BetBrain, his admiration of Salah and how he could only ‘dream’ of having a player of that magnitude at Manchester United right now…
“He’s Unbelievable!”
When asked which Liverpool player would be a dream signing for Man United, Sharpe was quick to respond with perhaps the most obvious answer.
“I think you’d struggle to not choose Mohamed Salah,” began Sharpe, “He has just been absolutely phenomenal.”
“His level of performances, along with his level of consistency and his ability to always stay fit, is just an absolute dream,” continued Sharpe.

“I know it’s the obvious answer, but it just has to be him! He’s just an absolutely unbelievable player.”
Many rival fans or ex-players don’t really seem to give the Egyptian King enough credit but that’s not the case for Sharpe, who was quick to heap praise on the special forward.
Whilst Salah has been the standout player in the league for eight years now, his 2024-25 campaign has been untouchable.
Salah’s 2024-25 Season by Numbers
This version of Mohamed Salah is undoubtedly the best we have seen from him, in my opinion. Slot has seemingly unleashed a whole new creative beast, that goes perfectly alongside his outrageous goalscoring numbers that we have seen for many years now.
Salah has 32 goals and 22 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions so far this season, making him one of the favourites to win this year’s Ballon d’or.

His Premier League form has been record-breaking too, scoring 27 goals and assisting a further 17 in just 29 appearances. He needs just five goals from the last nine games to match his record of 32 league goals, which was an all-time record before Erling Haaland scored 36 in 2022/23.
However, this season Salah sits six goals clear of the Norwegian forward and is currently on course to match Thierry Henry’s record of four Premier League golden boot awards. Salah won it in his debut season back in 2017/18, before winning it in 2018/19 and 2021/22 as well.
