After winning the Premier League title for the second time last season, the Liverpool squad is now enjoying a well-earned break.

At the time of writing (June 2), the club has confirmed just two pre-season friendlies as part of a tour of Asia towards the end of July.

Arne Slot’s squad face AC Milan at Hong Kong’s brand-new Kai Tak Stadium on July 26, before tackling Yokohama F Marinos at the Nissan Stadium in Japan four days later.

While the Reds will likely add more games to the schedule, the seemingly more relaxed set-up will give the squad and fans the opportunity to enjoy a longer break than normal.

With the club not competing in the Club World Cup this summer, supporters inclined towards betting on their games have the chance to consider other verticals.

Many of them may use the break to check out The Pokies, a platform which offers players the chance to win big jackpots if they hit the right combinations.

Fans may also think the club has hit the jackpot this summer given the lengthy time they will have to prepare for the 2025/26 season.

Manager Arne Slot has admitted that the club’s preparations for the recently concluded campaign were far from ideal, with some players returning around a week before the first game.

Involvement in the 2024 European Championship in Germany gave Slot a limited amount of time to impart his ideas on the full squad after replacing Jurgen Klopp.

However, that did not stop Liverpool claiming top spot in the Premier League. While this was great news, success in other competitions eluded the Reds.

Slot will hope to have Liverpool challenging for silverware on all fronts next season and having a more relaxed pre-season could help their cause.

The Dutchman will be eager for the club to conclude its summer transfer business early to ensure his squad is complete when pre-season gets underway.

The early signs are promising, with Liverpool securing an unexpected windfall by negotiating an £8.5 million with Real Madrid for Trent-Alexander Arnold.

The defender was initially set to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires, but Madrid want him in their squad for the Club World Cup.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has been acquired as his replacement and many people believe he is an upgrade in that position.

Liverpool are also trying to sign attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen, although the German club’s excessive demands may price them out of a deal.

Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez has been heavily touted as another potential summer signing and it would be no surprise if a deal is concluded over the next few weeks.

Giorgi Mamardashvili’s arrival from Valencia has triggered Caoimhin Kelleher’s exit to Brentford and strengthened Liverpool in the goalkeeping department.

There will likely be other new signings this summer, although the number may be determined by how many other players are allowed to leave the club.

Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have been linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League and will need to be replaced if they are sold.

Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott are among the other players attracting interest from elsewhere and who could leave Anfield during the summer transfer window.

Concluding their business early would allow Liverpool to fully capitalise on their pre-season preparations ahead of what promises to be a thrilling campaign.

With their rivals making moves to strengthen their respective squads, the Reds must ensure their plans run smoothly so they remain competitive again next term.
