Liverpool ‘Reach Agreement in Principle’ in Deal for Alexander Isak
Following the exit of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, Liverpool are ready to push hard to land their dream signing.
After weeks of rumours and anticipation, the Reds are ready to submit an official offer to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. Any move will likely cost upwards of £120million and negotiations with Newcastle will undoubtedly be very tough.
However, there seems to have been significant progress in talks with the player and his camp.
Isak has been absent from Newcastle’s pre-season training camp for the past week and has informed the club of his desire to join Liverpool this summer.
And now, according to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, Liverpool have reached an agreement with Isak over a record-breaking move.
“Liverpool are ready to submit to Newcastle a new bid to sign Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker would like to leave #NUFC and has already an agreement in principle with #LFC. Talks in progress.”

Liverpool have already made a splash in the transfer market this window, with their spend reaching approximately £260million so far.
Giorgi Mamrdashvili was first through the door from Valencia, after a £29million agreement was reached for his services last summer.
Former Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz were next through the door with the latter being a record-breaking £116m move.
Milos Kerkez followed in a £40million move from AFC Bournemouth to bolster the left-back area, before Liverpool confirmed the arrival of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for £69million. The 23-year-old striker was Newcastle United’s priority target, regardless of the future of Isak.
After Diaz departed to Bayern Munich for £65.5million, with Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott expected to follow him out of the door, Liverpool have more funds to play with as they look to retain the Premier League title under Arne Slot.
