Early Roots in AIK

Alexander Isak, born on September 21, 1999 in Solna, Sweden, began his footballing journey with AIK. Joining the youth academy at age six, he made swift progress through the ranks. In 2016, at just 16, he became AIK’s youngest-ever goalscorer in Allsvenskan and netted 10 goals in 24 league appearances during his breakthrough season.

Rise Through Europe

In January 2017, Isak moved to Borussia Dortmund for a fee reported to be between €8.6 and €10 million—making him the most expensive transfer for an Allsvenskan player at that time. After limited first-team opportunities, he was loaned to Willem II in early 2019, where he impressed with 13 goals in 16 league games.

Later in 2019, he signed with Real Sociedad, scoring 33 goals in 105 league appearances and winning the Copa del Rey in 2020, his first major trophy.

Ascension at Newcastle United

In August 2022, Isak joined Newcastle United for a club-record fee (around £63 million). Over three seasons (2022–2025), he scored 54 goals in 86 Premier League appearances. His contributions included record-breaking goal tallies for a Swedish player in England, multiple Player of the Month awards, and clinching the EFL Cup in March 2025 with a goal against Liverpool.

The Landmark Move to Liverpool

On 1 September 2025, Isak made a high-profile switch to Liverpool, signing a six-year deal. The headline figure: £125 million fee, making it the most expensive British transfer to date Add-ons could push the total closer to £130 million (roughly €150 million).

What AIK Will Receive from the Transfer

Because Alexander Isak was developed in AIK’s youth system, the club is entitled to solidarity compensation.

Liverpool’s reported payment for Isak is approximately 1.65 billion Swedish kronor, equating to two percent paid to AIK

According to gambling site Casivo.se that means AIK will receive around 32 million kronor in solidarity fees. Some reports suggest approximately 33 million kronor depending on rounding.

The distribution of this payout is specified byAIK’s leadership: 25 % will go to AIK Fotboll AB (the professional football company) and 75 % to AIK Fotbollsförening (the broader club/association)

Given that AIK recently posted a 38.3 million kronor deficit for the first half of the year, this windfall arrives at a crucial time
