Owen Beck edging towards Derby return as Liverpool watch closely
Liverpool’s 23-year-old full-back Owen Beck has endured setbacks that would test the resolve of any emerging talent, yet there is renewed optimism that his next chapter, at Derby County, is finally about to begin.
Progress after injury setbacks
Beck arrived at Pride Park in the summer, carrying promise and Premier League pedigree from his Liverpool education. What followed was a period of frustration, with two significant hamstring injuries across recent seasons halting momentum. Derby boss John Eustace offered welcome clarity when speaking ahead of this weekend.
“We’re hoping to give him a bit of game time next week at some point, and we will take it from there,” he said in his press conference. “It is important that we don’t rush him. He has had a couple of really serious hamstring injuries. And I know, when Owen is back, he is going to be a really top performer for the team and a really important part of the squad. So, it’s important that we don’t rush him, but we do want Owen to come back fully confident and I’m sure he will be.”
Those words underline patience, not panic. For a player who excelled in Liverpool’s academy and showed solid maturity on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season, every step is about rebuilding rhythm, not merely returning.
