Liverpool is a football club which is named right after its native town. They are one of the most popular football teams in the world which was founded in the year 1892. The team was often recognized as “The Reds” as they wore an all red costume. Notably, the team won the European Cup 6 times and English league title 19 times. The game is played at Anfield followed by their anthem, “ You’ll Never Walk Alone”. Currently, they play in the Premier Leagues, a prime football level based in England.
During the period 1892-1950, the logo of the team is linked to the Urban landscape and maritime Heritage. The logo is adapted from Liverpool’s official symbol, beautified with historical characters and elements. The whole logo is designed to showcase the team, the history, and its part as a port. Inside a contoured layout, a bird is sited with its enlarged neck, holding a seaweed with its sharp beak. Above this, you’ll find another bird with a similar pattern. On both sides of the shield, you could locate ancient Greek mythological figures. On the left, it is Neptune, and on the right, you’ll see Triton. Above these structures, you’ll find an emblem embedded with DEUS NOBIS HAEC OTIA FECIT, a Latin word which is translated as “ God has granted us this peace”. At the bottom, you’ll discover a text LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB which completes the logo.
During the period 1940-1980, the team used another logo apart from their main logo. This image was quite simple without many complex details. There is a liver bird at the center, which resembles a heron in outline. This mythical figure is placed inside white shield outlined in red. On the upper arc, you’ll find the word LIVERPOOL, and on the lower arc, FOOTBALL CLUB. Later on, this logo became the identity of the Football Club. Even today, while using Phone Casino apps, you can locate the game you wish to play by looking at their logos and thumbnails.
During the period 1950-1955, a white bird symbol was found on every player’s shirt at the FA cup final; this icon was later adapted as the club’s main logo. The Logo’s design was minimal, with a shield-shaped background painted in red. Against this royal backdrop, you’ll find a white bird with a large neck and sharp beak holding seaweed. The bird is seen to be lifting its feathers with the tail pointing downwards.
During the period 1955-1968, the shield layout disappeared and an oval outline was adapted. A thin red line shapes the outer structure while holding a pink coloured bird inside. The bird is viewed to be standing on a thin rectangular structure facing towards the left. As usual, it has an elongated neck and sharp beak, holding the branch which represents Liverpool’s port history. Below the rectangular structure, you’ll witness the text L.F.C. The image remained basic, adapting to a red and white color palette that could be easily spotted on players’ outfits.
During the period 1968-1987, the oval outline was removed. Only the bird and the L.F.C symbol is left. The red tone became more intense, and there were minimal changes in the bird’s structure. The bird is still facing left, holding the branch, and the text L.F.C became enlarged from the previous version.
During the Period 1987-1992, the bird again got an outline structure. The layout resembles a winning trophy outlined in a thin red line. In the lower part, you’ll find two level red ribbons. The upper part has a LIVERPOOL text, and the lower part holds a FOOTBALL CLUB text on it.
During the Period 1992-1993, an emblem was created for the anniversary of Liverpool Football Club, portraying the team’s history. The logo was shaped like a classic shield with three sharp edges. Inside, you’ll find the text “LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB” and another text “100 YEARS” marked in red. Below the shield, you’ll discover a yellow ribbon holding the text “1892-1992”.
Slowly, the icon evolved over the years, during 2017-2018, marking the 125th anniversary of Liverpool FC’s founding, an emblem was created. Like other versions, there is a red silhouette of the mythological bird, with a high neck and sharp peak, holding the branch or seaweed. To the left of the bird, you’ll find the text “1892,” and on the right, it is “2017”. Below the bird, there is a big text “ L.F.C”, under that, there is another text “125 YEARS”. The entire history of the club is dated between 1892 and 2017, making it the primary focus of the symbol, which became a major part of its identity.
