Last season was undoubtedly Dominik Szoboszlai’s best campaign in a Liverpool shirt. The midfielder managed 13 goals and 12 assists across all competitions in a struggling side.
As it stands, the 25-year-old looks set to become Liverpool’s next captain as he prepares to step into the shoes of Virgil van Dijk.
However, the Hungarian has come under some criticism recently. First of all for his struggles in adapting to Andoni Iraola’s double pivot system, where he has been deployed in a much deeper role.

Szoboszlai Continues to Impress
“You’re always going to find fault in someone. People are looking for it at times, and I think you should just look at the player and what he’s done,” said Houghton.
“Last season was exceptional. There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of ego as long as it’s shown in the right way.”
“If I was to ask Liverpool players, ‘Do you think he cares about Liverpool?’ I think the answer would be yes, he does. He wants to be a success.”
