Long-Term Liverpool Target is Available for Just £21m This Summer
As Liverpool’s quiet transfer window continues, the Reds have been offered a bargain opportunity to kick-start their summer plans under Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes. Juventus forward Federico Chiesa has been a name that has been linked with a move to Anfield over the past few years, and the Italian is now expected to make a permanent switch this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have set a price tag of £21million for the 26-year-old, with a number of clubs said to be interested in securing his signature. AS Roma are reportedly one of the teams interested in the winger, but of course Liverpool’s name has also been mentioned.

Chiesa’s Credentials
Federico Chiesa has been a name on the radar of Europe’s top clubs for some time now, but his performances in Italy’s EURO 2020 triumph really propelled his stature on the continent.

The winger originally made a name for himself during his time at Fiorentina, where he scored 34 goals in 153 appearances, before earning himself a big move to Juventus in 2022. Since then, he has racked up 131 appearances, scoring 32 goals and assisting a further 23.
Mostly deployed as a left-winger, but Chiesa is more than natural on the opposite flank and has even occasionally contributed from a central role – although very rarely. Being right footed would typically support the idea of Chiesa being deployed on the right, due to the inverted nature of modern wingers.
However, one major concern for a lot of top clubs would be regarding Chiesa’s woeful injury record, which has seen him miss 91 games since the start of the 2020/21 season. 45 of those games were missed through a cruciate ligament tear in 2022.
Exploring the Finances and Competition
Many will be wondering why Chiesa is available for such a small fee compared to other wingers in the market at the moment and that is largely down to the fact that his current contract at Juventus is set to expire in the summer of 2025. That leaves just 12 months left on his current deal, which could lead to a free transfer at the end of next season, which Juventus will be keen to avoid.
His current transfermarkt evaluation stands at around £32million, which outlines the potential bargain that could be had for whoever signs Chiesa. Also according to transfermarkt, Bayern Munich are the current favourites to sign the 26-year-old, with AS Roma also in the running. Nothing seems in the works from Liverpool’s side yet, but could definitely be one to keep an eye on.
