Liverpool Transfers: Journalist Drops Huge Hint Over Potential Incomings
Liverpool’s summer window has been nothing short of electrifying so far. After reaching a pre-agreement to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia for £30million last summer, the Reds have already added three new players to their title-winning squad.
Jeremie Frimpong was first through the door after Liverpool triggered his £29million release clause at Bayer Leverkusen. His former teammate and best friend Florian Wirtz followed in a record-breaking £116million deal.
Now, the club have announced the arrival of left-back Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth for a fee of £40million. But their summer plans certainly aren’t stopping there.
Reliable transfer journalist Nicolo Schira has provided an exciting update on Liverpool’s transfer plans, saying:
“Liverpool are planning to sign a new centre-back and a new striker in the next days.”

Marc Guehi Imminent?
As Schira reports, a centre-back is certainly expected to be the next target for Liverpool. Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is right at the top of their list and with just one-year left on his contract, a move this summer appears highly likely.
The defender is expected to cost in the region of £40million should a move materialise this summer, otherwise Guehi will move for free at the end of next season.
Other names like RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato have also been mentioned, but it’s expected that Liverpool are favouring a move for the Crystal Palace defender, who would also count towards their homegrown player count.
Striker Options
A long list of names have been linked with a move to Anfield as Darwin Nunez’s exit remains imminent.
Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak remains a dream target, but admittedly is a difficult deal to do. More realistically, Liverpool are huge admirers of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, who will likely cost around £70million.
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko had been mentioned earlier in the window, but it seems the Serbian striker is bound for Arsenal.
Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have both been linked, but both deals seem less likely at the moment.
