Liverpool Confirm Quansah Departure

The initial fee is believed to be £30 million, with a further £5 million in performance-related add-ons. However, reports in Germany suggest the base fee is closer to €30 million (£25.7 million), with the rest accounted for through bonuses.
Strategic Deal Includes Buy-Back Clause
Quansah’s move includes a buy-back clause, which will become active from 2027. The clause is reportedly set at €60 million (around £51.4 million), giving Liverpool a potential opportunity to re-sign the player in the future should he continue to develop in the Bundesliga.

Sources close to the deal view the structure as reflective of Liverpool’s desire to retain some level of control over Quansah’s future, while allowing the player regular first-team minutes at a high-performing European club.
Exit Follows Breakthrough Season
Quansah played a notable role in Liverpool’s 2023/24 campaign, emerging as a reliable option in defence during a season in which the club secured the Premier League title under Arne Slot.
His departure marks the end of a long association with the club he joined as a five-year-old.
