Liverpool keen on Naby Keita

With the Premier League season less than a month away, preparations are in full swing. There has already been a number of big money moves and many more are likely to be on the horizon.

One move we may see is Naby Keita heading to Anfield, however, Jurgen Klopp faces a tough fight for the midfielder. RB Leipzig have issued a hands-off warning to Liverpool, though that is unlikely to deter Klopp too much. The Reds remain 2/5 with the best free bets sites to sign the 22-year-old who scored eight goals in 31 appearances last season.

It is thought that Leipzig have already rejected an offer in excess of £57million for Keita but Liverpool are expected to return with much improved second offer this week. The Guinea international is open to the move and the Premier League is likely to appeal to him, with Liverpool’s Champions League position proving even more enticing.

Leipzig, who finished second in the Bundesliga last season, are hell bent on keeping their man as they also face losing another of their top players. The highly rated Swedish winger Emil Forsberg may be bound for AC Milan and should the starlet head to Serie A, it’s a transfer that would make Keita’s move to Merseyside ever harder. Manchester United are also rumoured to be interested in the player and it’s possible that Jose Mourinho may try and hijack the transfer. United have recently splashed out on Romelu Lukaku, though it is likely that their summer spending spree is far from over.

Klopp has already experienced a number of frustrations in the market so far with only Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke joining, though the German boss has urged the Kop to be patient. A transfer for Virgil Van Dijk is continuing to prove to be tricky with Southampton playing hard ball and reporting Liverpool over an apparent tapping up, though the Dutch defender is still 2/5 to be playing for the club next season. The Reds escaped punishment for the alleged tapping up, however, it seems to have made any move for the 26-year-old even harder. Still, it is thought that the former Celtic man is demanding a move to Anfield.

Elsewhere, the Reds remain in pole position to sign Arsenal man Alex Oxlade Chamberlain at 9/4. It’s unclear whether the midfielder will leave the Emirates, though the pull of Champions League football may prove a decisive factor in the move.
