Liverpool face a tough task away to Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight and we’ve had a go at predicting the starting eleven Jurgen Klopp will select in Germany.
An uphill battle awaits The Reds at the Allianz Arena. Klopp’s Redmen could not make their dominance pay in the first leg at Anfield and had to settle for a 0-0 draw on the night.
However, if you’re going to draw at home in the first leg, then 0-0 is the perfect scoreline. Bayern will know how dangerous Liverpool are on the counter-attack yet they will be expected to take the game to them on their home turf. It’s something of a catch twenty-two situation for Niko Kovac’s men.
No doubt, this Liverpool squad will want to go on another fantastic European journey like they enjoyed last season. So, will Klopp opt for an industrious midfield of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum? We know that Naby Keita hasn’t travelled due to a slight injury so that limits the midfield options somewhat.
Has Fabinho made himself undroppable? Yes, in my opinion. Fabinho’s name should be one of the first on the teamsheet after his recent run of form. Klopp played Fabinho for the full 90 minutes against Burnley on Sunday. Was that just to ensure Liverpool didn’t let the three points slip in that game or could it have been an indication that Fabinho won’t be starting in Munich?
