Liverpool’s Sadio Mané says he has no intention of changing his ‘new’ goal celebration despite the fact he stole it from teammate Roberto Firmino!
Speaking to Complex, Mané claimed that Firmino’s copyright on the celebration could not still stand as the Brazilian has moved on, using many varied celebrations since.
“Each player in this squad, if you want to keep this celebration as your own it’s quite difficult because we score quite a lot!
“Bobby did that celebration two or three years ago, and I think he has had quite a few celebrations since.
“My celebration now is what I’m going to carry on doing throughout the year.
“I know that Bobby will be copying me again soon, you’ll see!”
Mané showed us his celebration after equalising against Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul in August. Since then, he has shown it to us at Southampton and again in the win over Burnley.
Our Senegalese number 10 was one of the most important players in the first team last season, stepping out of the shadow of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. This season, he has already shown that he may be about to up his level of performance again.
This bodes well for all of us Liverpool fans as Jurgen Klopp’s Reds make another push for Premier League and Champions League glory.
