Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp discussed some of the difficulties The Reds currently face due to injuries and a hectic fixture schedule.
Sheffield United visit Anfield tonight in another huge Premier League clash while Everton arrive on Sunday for a third-round FA Cup clash.
In his pre-match press conference, Klopp spoke about Liverpool’s absent players – The Reds are without Dejan Lovren, Xherdan Shaqiri, Joel Matip, Fabinho and Nathaniel Clyne – and how they have had to handle such a full-on winter schedule.
“When you have only three days in between it is tricky and you saw that against Wolves, but four days is a proper recovery and that’s OK, so you don’t have to think too much about it.
“After that, there is another game immediately and only three days, which is tricky again, but it’s the job to do.
“It is not only about rhythm and who plays together with who, we don’t have in all positions massive alternatives, so a few of them have to go again and hopefully they can. Apart from that, it’s just about the opponent and shape.
“They are all in a good shape, so I’m happy with that. It is not the biggest number and it’s not always easy to make the right decisions.”
Klopp will work with the same matchday squad that was available to him for Sunday’s hard-fought win over Wolves.
New signing Takumi Minamino is ineligible for this game but will more than likely make his debut on Sunday, playing some part in the derby with Everton in the FA Cup.
