Liverpool welcomed back the trio of Thiago Alcântara, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri this week as they returned to full training.
Thiago had been out injured since the 2-2 draw at Everton in mid-October. His injury was sustained thanks to a horror challenge late in the game from The Toffees’ Brazil international Richarlison. The former FC Bayern star has only featured in two Liverpool games since his arrival on Merseyside.
James Milner went off injured in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw at Brighton in late November. It looks like the versatile midfielder is ready to take his place in the first-team squad again.
Xherdan Shaqiri is also back in contention having not played for The Reds since coming on as a sub for Roberto Firmino in Liverpool’s draw at Manchester City in early November.
Reds fans everywhere will have been delighted to see the pictures from the new AXA Training Centre showing Jürgen Klopp’s squad getting back closer to full strength.
Thiago still hasn’t had the opportunity to grace the Anfield turf. Will he get the chance this Sunday when West Brom are the visitors? It’s entirely possible the Spain international midfielder does get some minutes late in the game if things are going to plan for Klopp’s men.
