Liverpool travel to play Sheffield United in the Premier League this Sunday night. We’ve had a look at the possible starting eleven for The Reds.

Jürgen Klopp’s side currently sits in sixth place in the Premier League table, five points off West Ham and that coveted top-four spot. Liverpool have lost four consecutive league games and will be looking to stop the rot at Bramall Lane this weekend.

Liverpool are without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joël Matip, Jordan Henderson, and James Milner for this game. Diogo Jota only returned to full training this week so he probably won’t return to the first-team squad for another week or two. It’s unclear whether Fabinho will be back to face Sheffield United. With how Liverpool’s luck has been with injuries, it’s probably best to rule him out.

On Friday morning, the devastating news broke that Alisson Becker’s father, Jose Becker, had died at the age of just 57. Jose had drowned while swimming in a lake near the family’s holiday home in Brazil. Our condolences go out to the Becker family at this terrible time.

Caoimhin Kelleher has been missing from the matchday squad in recent weeks due to an injury sustained in training. Therefore, it’s likely that Adrián will be between the sticks for the Sheffield United game.

With Henderson and Fabinho both out of this game, Klopp must choose a centre-back pairing from Ozan Kabak, Ben Davies, and Nat Phillips. I think he will opt for Phillips and Kabak. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will continue in their full-back roles as normal.

The midfield trio is likely to be Gini Wijnaldum, Thiago Alcântara, and Curtis Jones again. They have started three of the last four games together and will probably be in action again in this one. Klopp doesn’t have many options for rotation here.

Up front, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mané will start.

Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Sheffield United: Adrián; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Thiago, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mané
