Liverpool face Wolves tonight at Molineux in the Premier League as The Reds look to hold onto their slim hopes of a top-four finish this season.
Jürgen Klopp’s men are 8th in the league and 8 points behind Chelsea who are fourth. Liverpool have tonight’s game in hand over The Blues so a win would cut the gap to five points.
Liverpool’s long-term injury absentees are Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson, and Joël Matip.
Caoimhin Kelleher and Roberto Firmino are also doubts. Firmino missed last week’s Champions League win over RB Leipzig with Diogo Jota starting in his place.
Alisson Becker will continue in goals for Liverpool with Adrián on the bench in Kelleher’s absence.
The young centre-back pairing of Nat Phillips and Ozan Kabak played very well together last time out. They should both start again with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in their usual full-back roles.
Fabinho, hopefully, will once again marshal the midfield, offering protection in front of Phillips and Kabak and allowing Thiago Alcântara licence to roam a little farther up the pitch. Gini Wijnaldum will be the other midfielder, alongside Thiago and Fabinho.
With Firmino out, Jota will likely start up front again with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Wolves: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Thiago; Jota, Salah, Mané
