Liverpool return to Premier League action tonight away to Leeds United as they continue their push for a top-four finish.
The Reds are now out of the Champions League following their 3-1 aggregate defeat to LaLiga giants Real Madrid in the quarter-final. That means Jürgen Klopp and co now have five weeks to focus on getting back into next season’s top European competition via the top four.
Liverpool are without Virgil van Dijk, Joël Matip, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson, and Divock Origi through injury. Caoimhin Kelleher and Curtis Jones are also doubts for this game.
Alisson Becker should start in goal for The Reds with the relatively settled back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Nat Phillips, Ozan Kabak, and Andy Robertson in front of him.
Fabinho will probably continue in his ‘6’ role at the base of Liverpool’s midfield trio with Gini Wijnaldum and Thiago Alcântara alongside the Brazilian.
Klopp has some tougher decisions to make with his front three selection. I think Roberto Firmino may be on the bench for this one as Diogo Jota returns to the starting lineup. Jota and Sadio Mané could be on the flanks with Mohamed Salah through the middle of the front three.
Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Leeds: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Thiago; Jota, Salah, Mané
