Premier League title hopefuls set for frantic run of games

While Liverpool’s next five Premier League games all have the potential to be tricky, it would be no surprise if they completed a clean sweep of victories over the next few weeks.

The kick things off at home to bitter rivals Manchester United – a team whose season has not gone to plan but who will be bristling to prove a point.

Arsenal are next on the agenda for a game both sides will be desperate not to lose. However, home advantage could give the Reds a vital edge.

A trip to Burnley should hold no fears for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with the Lancashire side looking a good bet to make an immediate return to the Championship.

Liverpool kick-off 2024 with a home game against Newcastle United and will fancy their chances of picking up another three points here.

They round off this batch of five games with a trip to Bournemouth, who have shown plenty of improvement under manager Andoni Iraola in recent weeks.

A 15-point haul is not beyond the realms of possibility for Liverpool and would give them some valuable breathing space in the title race.

Aside from the trip to Liverpool, the Gunners have a favourable run of games over the next few weeks and should collect at least 12 points.

Villa will also fancy their chances of continuing their excellent run of form, although visits to Man United and Everton are unlikely to be easy.

Reigning champions Manchester City have five winnable games lined up, but their participation in the Club World Cup could put a strain on their squad.

Tottenham Hotspur will be eyeing plenty of points from their upcoming run of matches, although trips to Brighton & Hove Albion and Man United will test their mettle.

Regardless of what happens elsewhere, if Liverpool focus on their own business they will be well placed to mount a serious title challenge during the second half of the season.
