Liverpool Transfer Hopes Rise as Olise Future at Bayern Faces Uncertainty

Liverpool’s long-standing interest in Michael Olise has been reignited after Bayern Munich sanctioned a £75m package for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, as reported by Bayern Space on X. Jackson has joined Bayern on an initial loan, with an obligation to buy, and the deal is already fuelling speculation about the club’s plans to balance their books next summer.

The 24-year-old forward struggled to establish himself at Chelsea and has been forced out following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. Yet Bayern’s willingness to invest heavily in him could have wider implications, particularly for Liverpool’s transfer ambitions.

Olise Linked to Liverpool Move

Olise, 23, has long been admired by Liverpool’s recruitment team, with the France international seen as one of the brightest attacking prospects in Europe. Bayern Space has claimed that sporting director Max Eberl intends to cover the cost of Jackson’s deal through the sale of either Harry Kane or Olise next year.

“Max Eberl managed to push the permanent Nicolas Jackson transfer through by assuring Bayern’s supervisory board that no fresh funds would be required next summer,” the report stated. “He argued that the money for squad planning would be generated through the sale of high-caliber players, with other clubs expected to trigger the release clauses of names such as Michael Olise and Harry Kane.”

Liverpool Monitoring Bayern’s Transfer Plans

The potential existence of a release clause in Olise’s contract has been debated in the German media, but Bayern’s strategy suggests movement is likely. For Liverpool, this represents a possible opening to strengthen their attacking options, especially with Mohamed Salah’s current deal expiring in 2027.

Sporting director Richard Hughes is expected to be proactive if Bayern decide to cash in on Olise, who has consistently impressed with his creativity and versatility.

Future Planning for Salah’s Successor

Liverpool are preparing for the long term and Olise’s profile makes him an ideal candidate to eventually succeed Salah. His ability to operate across multiple attacking roles and his proven Premier League experience could make him a perfect fit for Arne Slot’s system.

While speculation continues over Bayern’s squad planning, Liverpool remain one of the clubs best placed to act if Olise becomes available. Next summer’s window could present an opportunity to secure a player who is regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking stars.
