Liverpool 2 – 1 Wolves – PL Player Ratings
The Premier League’s return saw the Reds host bottom-placed Wolves, with a remit to leapfrog Manchester United and slide back into the Premier League top-four race.
The lineup and subsequent ratings are listed below.
Alisson Becker – 7.0
The giant Brazilian stopper was solid if unspectacular, as his teammate showed both good and bad consistency against a team there for the taking.
Jeremie Frimpong – 7.0
The Dutch fullback was effective going forward and showed great awareness to assist in the opening goal. The full quota of minutes can only aid the regeneration of the new asset.
Milos Kerkez – 6.0
The Hungarian international was available and able to cover ground well as he strived to make the most of this run of form.
Ibrahima Konaté – 7.0
The French international defender was keenly aware of the threats and dealt with them for the most part. The horrendous moments appear to be lessening each week as he builds his confidence.
Virgil van Dijk – 7.0
The captain and leader of this team was authoritative and demanding of those around him as he amazingly had to ensure his team held on for the win against the worst team in Premier League history.

Federico Chiesa – 6.0
The Italian flyer finally started in the Premier League and lacked the spark he usually brings from the bench. These moments and minutes are vital.
Subbed – 62 mins
Ryan Gravenberch – 6.0
The Dutch midfielder was clever to hold his run and score the opener with a crisp finish behind the keeper. A solid game of energy yet one that died away.
Curtis Jones – 8.0
The England international was very good and controlled the tempo and ground as he is quickly becoming indispensable to Arne Slot. An England recall beckons for the academy graduate.
Florian Wirtz – 8.0
The German attacker was at times sensational and able to draw defenders whilst knitting things together. The Goa was superb and his interactions with Ekitike are the highlight of the season thus far. There aren’t many.
Man of the Match
Subbed – 90+3 mins

Hugo Ekitike – 8.0
The French attacker was superb in assisting Florian and generally the best true attacker once again. His ability to pull away from marking onward is a delight and he was unlucky not to score with one intricate effort which slid around the outside of the post.
Alexis Mac Allister – 6.0
The Argentine World Cup winner was under the radar solid and kept things moving and positionally controlled. The new system aids him and restricts him in equal measures as Curtis continues to outperform.
Substitutions;
Conor Bradley – 6.0 (on 63)
Came on to add energy
Cody Gakpo – 5.0 (on 86)
Came on.
Trey Nyoni – N/A (on 90+3)
Came on.
The Manager;
Arne Slot – 7.0
Was keen to get an attacking side out from the stat and finally reward Chiesa with a start.
The substitutions were a mixture as he failed to take advantage of a team depleted by their poor performances this season.
Steven Smith’s Pre-match Prediction;
Liverpool 3 – 1 Wolves
