Liverpool Transfer News: Reds are in the Race to Sign Premier League Forward

Just six months on from Liverpool’s record-breaking £450m summer spend, transfer rumours are starting to fire up once again.

Liverpool have already agreed a deal worth in the region of £60m over the arrival of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, who is sidelined for the rest of this season with a shouler injury.

But now, there’s a new name in the frame. According to Telefoot, Liverpool are one of the clubs showing interest in a move to sign AFC Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a brilliant debut season in the Premier League, scoring eight goals so far.

However, it is important to remember that Liverpool spent £194m on two forwards in the form of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike last summer.

Kroupi’s Ballon d’Or Hopes

The 19-year-old revealed to Telefoot that he wants to “play for the biggest clubs” and even admitted that he has his sights set on winning the Ballon d’Or.

His potential has never been in doubt, since bursting onto the scene for FC Lorient and there’s no reason why the youngster can’t become one of the most exciting prospects in European football.

Liverpool’s Competition

But as expected, Liverpool wouldn’t be alone in their pursuit of the teenager. Both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in a move for the Frenchman.

Interest from such European giants highlight just how much of a talent he is.

After arriving on the South Coast for just £11m in the summer, the Cherries are set for major profit on the striker with any deal likely to cost more than £50m.

But for now, Kroupi’s attention will remain on Bournemouth’s pursuit of European football as they currently sit 9th. That’s just three points behind Everton in 8th and four behind Brentford in 7th.

Whereas Liverpool continue to try and salvage some success from an absolutely disastrous title defence, with securing Champions League football remaining their priority.
