This year Liverpool FC is going to America: Home of the brave and land of the free! This is really exciting for all American fans as they may have the chance to meet some of the players. For all of us not so lucky to be in America during their pre-season tour, we will have to support our boys from afar. If you want to back Liverpool in one of their upcoming games to show your support, the paddy power app for android allows you to place sporting bets. It is a convenient and fun app to use. The app also gives you a really generous fifty pound matched bet when you sign up.

The team will be jetting off to America this week and will set up their main base in the heart of Silicon Valley which is known as the home for major technology companies like Google, as well as smaller startup ventures. Specifically, they will be staying at the prestigious Stanford University in Palo Alto. The university has amazing sporting facilities and boasts a stadium that cost one hundred million dollars to build, and seats fifty thousand people.

This is Liverpool FC’s third team visit to the United States, having spent summers there in 2012 and also in 2014. Soccer has become increasingly popular in America, with many Americans choosing to watch the Premier League as well as other soccer tournaments. With a growing American fan base, the club is choosing to make more frequent trips to the United States to encourage the footie fever and engage with fans. While the team is of course attempting to increase their fan base, there will be less commercial appearances of players than there traditionally have been in past tours to the United States.

It is also good to note that Joel Matip has been given the go ahead by his doctors to join the team in their pre-season US tour. Matip is fit to travel with the team, but an ankle injury had caused some suspicion that he may not be able to join his team on their American tour. Matip had sustained some Achilles injuries, but a scan revealed that there was little damage and that his injury posed no obstacle to his travelling plans. Speaking of players going on the tour, you may notice that some of the younger players like Ejaria are very young and are actually still in school. Even though it is currently summer vacation, some of them do have other commitments, possibly related to their schooling, which makes them unavailable for the American pre-season tour.

So if you are in the region of California, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for matches and events that Liverpool will be participating in during their tour. It is not every day that you get to possibly meet some of your sporting idols, so if your geographical location is favorable, go out there and support the boys on their tour!
