Player Ratings as Reds ride Molineux challenge
Another obstacle overcome, this time in the form of a side that have taken points from Chelsea and Manchester City this season.
Brilliant from Mo to open the scoring, with Van Dijk finally popping in a league goal to seal another vital three points. 4 points up for a few hours at least…
Another clean sheet yawn
Alisson (6): A couple of sloppy moments but nothing else that had me worried, made some tidy saves and deserved his clean sheet.
James Milner (6): Yeah, probably a few 6’s in this one? The Reds were abit sloppy first half and kicked on after the interval. Milner highlighted that with his performance.
Virgil van Dijk (8): Swotted the jet fuelled heels of Adama Traore away as he would a disgruntled fly, finally picks up his goal with a lovely finish. Best defender in the league.
Dejan Lovren (6): Couple of times where the ball goes through his legs and you’re thinking, cmon mate? But yeah, nothing that made me angry with him.
Andy Robertson (7): One really bad cross. The only blemish on his regular 7/10. Wonder if Moreno gets a go on Boxing Day?
Reds Fab in midfield again
Fabinho (8): Bar a couple of poor passes this was another really strong performance from the Brazilian. Imposed himself on the midfield and picked up a cracking assist.
Jordan Henderson (6): Positionally ropey defensively as he often is when played in a pivot but looked decent going forward given a little more freedom.
Stop the experiment!
Naby Keita (6): Patch him up and put him in his natural position.
Sadio Mane (6): Worked it nicely for the second goal, lacked the final pass as he did against United but he’s contributing to the attack and whilst he’s doing that you leave him in.
Mohamed Salah (9): Ran a solid Wolves backline absolutely ragged. Goal, assist. Dominated the attack. Phenomenal player.
Roberto Firmino (7): Given acres of space and used it nicely. Only a matter of time until he wins a penalty the way he’s dribbling at the moment.
