Trent Alexander-Arnold hopes Reds will get into the clean sheet habit
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold was delighted with The Reds’ first clean sheet of the season at Burnley and hopes more will follow after the international break.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-0 at Turf Moor, keeping Burnley’s Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood at bay for the 90 minutes.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Alexander-Arnold said the poor pre-season results were now behind them after four league wins from four.
“Obviously our results in pre-season weren’t the best and the performances weren’t the best but we’ve put that behind us.
“The most important thing for us was getting off and running in the first game of the season and we done that with a good win.
“We haven’t looked back since, so it’s about putting those results behind us now, going forward and carrying on getting them.”
However, like a true defender, Liverpool’s number 66 went on to delight in the fact The Reds had shut out the Burnley attack.
“It’s massive. That was the one [thing] we’ve probably been missing so far this season, the clean sheets,” Alexander-Arnold stated.
“It’s been a bit frustrating not being able to get them but we’ve showed we are able to get them, especially at a tough place like this where not many teams do. But we’ve done really well and hopefully, it can get the ball rolling in terms of clean sheets.”
The squad is currently on international break and will return to Premier League action at home to Newcastle on Saturday, September 14th.
