Playing in a new 4-4-2 diamond shape, Robertson had the entire left wing to himself in Amsterdam, and he did well at both ends of the pitch, covering against some dangerous Ajax attacks, and providing energy and forward momentum offensively. His assist for Nunez’s goal was a superbly taken corner.
Despite the struggles of the season so far, the Reds are now safely through to the Champions League knockouts, and they will need the rampaging Scot to put in more performances like this if they want to keep progressing.
